DTF Transfer Application Guide

Thread & Ink Expressions specializes in HD DTF transfers – a premium garment printing solution that transforms any design into a durable fabric transfer. Our technology offers unlimited colors, fine details, and works on any fabric. With no minimum orders and rapid production capability, we help brands create custom apparel efficiently and cost-effectively.

Our DTF transfers deliver:

Required Materials
  • DTF transfer sheet
  • Garment/fabric
  • Heat press
  • TPU powder (adhesive)
  • Parchment paper/Teflon sheet
Temperature Settings
  • Cotton: 320°F (160°C)
  • Polyester: 305°F (152°C)
  • Blends: 315°F (157°C)
Application Steps
  • Prepare Garment
    • Pre-press fabric for 5-10 seconds to remove moisture
    • Ensure surface is flat and wrinkle-free
  • Position Transfer
    • Place transfer face-down on fabric
    • Ensure design is properly aligned
  • Heat Press Settings
    • Pressure: Medium-firm
    • Time: 15-20 seconds
    • Use parchment paper/Teflon sheet as cover
  • Application Process
    • Close press with firm pressure
    • Hold for full duration
    • Allow to cool for 5 seconds
  • Peel and Check
    • Peel carrier sheet while still warm (hot peel)
    • If transfer resists, press for additional 5 seconds
Care Instructions
  • Wait 24 hours before first wash
  • Wash inside-out
  • Cold/warm water only
  • No bleach
  • Tumble dry low/medium
Troubleshooting
  • If design cracks: Increase temperature by 5°F
  • If not adhering: Increase pressure and time
  • If melting: Reduce temperature
  • If incomplete transfer: Check powder coverage
Storage
  • Store transfers in cool, dry place
  • Keep away from direct sunlight
  • Use within 6 months for best results
